The Sighting of the New Moon of Zulhijjah for 1447 Hijrah will be conducted nationwide on Sunday afternoon, 17th of May 2026. Syari'e judges and officers from the Syariah Courts, State Judiciary Department, the Prime Minister's Office together with officers from the Survey Department, Ministry of Development will be at the designated locations to Sight the New Moon of Zulhijjah 1447 Hijrah that afternoon.

In Brunei Muara District the sighting will be at the Mutiara Exchange Building, Tungku Highway; Tanjung Batu Recreation Park, Kampung Sabun, Muara Town and Bukit Agok, Jerudong. In Tutong District it will be located at the Bukit Ambog Hilal Building and at the Bukit Lumut Hilal Building in Belait District. To further smoothen the sighting, the public is requested to provide cooperation by NOT approaching the locations. The announcement of first Zulhijjah for 1447 Hijrah will be broadcast as soon as the sighting is completed that afternoon.
